ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd, which handles the involvement of private healthcare practitioners in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick), has told practitioners not to solicit details of those interested in the vaccinations through advertising.
The government-linked company said it received news that some private healthcare practitioners have been advertising the availability of Covid-19 vaccines at their clinics, including to encourage members of the public to register as vaccine recipients at their clinic.
“ProtectHealth does not deny the involvement of private healthcare practitioners in the Phase 2 and 3 of Pick.
“However, soliciting lists of vaccine recipients through social media or text messaging applications like WhatsApp is prohibited. It could cause confusion and misunderstanding in the community.
“Therefore, ProtectHealth asked private healthcare practitioners to stop any form of advertising immediately for the solicitation of vaccine recipient name lists,” it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile on Twitter, ProtectHealth said those interested in getting vaccinated against Covid-19 only need to register via MySejahtera.
They will be notified of their vaccine administration centre (PPV) through the app, which may be a Health Ministry facility or a private healthcare facility.
“Private clinics can submit their existing patients list to MySejahtera to influence the allotment of vaccination venues, but no guarantee,” it said.
ProtectHealth was established in 2016 and is owned by the Health Ministry. - Mkini
