Pakatan Harapan is expected to announce the use of its logo and seat distribution for the Malacca state polls tomorrow.
Malaysiakini has learnt that Harapan top leaders have finally decided to use the Harapan logo for the snap polls during their meeting yesterday night after multiple rounds of discussion for the past few weeks.
One source, who is close to the matter, said the Harapan central leadership will announce its decision tomorrow.
Another Harapan source also confirmed the matter, saying the announcement will include the result of the seat negotiations.
Meanwhile, DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke has also stated that Harapan will make an announcement tomorrow.
Official announcement
“Seats to be contested by the respective parties under Harapan have been finalised in a meeting attended by all top Harapan leaders last night.
“Official announcement will be made tomorrow,” Loke said in his Facebook page this evening.
He also clarified that an earlier story of Malaysiakini about Harapan Malacca yet to reach a consensus on seat negotiations was not based on the latest update.
Earlier today, a PKR source told Malaysiakini that both PKR and DAP are laying claims on Paya Rumput, while Amanah is also eyeing to contest in Asahan.
Previously, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has stated that Harapan will use the coalition's logo in the upcoming state election.
However, this matter has not been officially announced by the Harapan presidential council to date.
PKR has been fighting for its party logo to be used by the Harapan coalition in elections since early this year in hopes of repeating its 2018 general election success.
DAP and Amanah, however, have been adamant about using the Harapan logo. - Mkini
