PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 89 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.
Of the total, 19 were classified as brought-in-dead.
The death toll now stands at 27,770.
Most of the fatalities were recorded in Sarawak with 15 deaths, followed by Kelantan (14), Perak (13), Penang (9), Pahang (8), Selangor (7), Johor (6), Sabah (5), Kuala Lumpur (4), Kedah (3), Perlis (3) and Negeri Sembilan (2).
There were no deaths reported in Melaka, Terengganu, Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 97,505 active cases including 700 in intensive care units (ICU), 364 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 11,413 recoveries reported.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,377,033. - FMT
