Sungai Udang assemblyperson Idris Haron has been reminded of his oath of secrecy taken when he was appointed to Sulaiman Ali's administration.
"The Malacca government wishes to remind each (former) member of the state executive council that they took an oath of secrecy.
"The state government will evaluate if there is any violation of this oath. If necessary, the state government will take legal action," state secretary Kemal Mohamad said in a statement today.
Among others, Kemal was referring to Idris' allegations that decisions made by Sulaiman's state executive council were subject to outside interference.
Kamel (above) said Idris, as a former member of Sulaiman's state government, should be aware that all decisions were made collectively.
"The Malacca government refutes allegations that there was third-party interference in its decisions.
"All decisions made were finalised through collective decision. It is untrue that all decisions had to be referred to a third party before, during or after the meetings," said Kemal.
Idris and three other state assemblypersons withdrew support for Sulaiman on Oct 4.
Sulaiman reacted by securing the dissolution of the state legislative assembly. An election must be held by Dec 3.
Since the dissolution of the state assembly, Idris has been making various allegations against Sulaiman's administration and alluded that the latter was under the influence of Malacca Umno chief Ab Rauf
Kemal said the state government also denied Idris' allegations that the state government made decisions in favour of only one ethnic group.
"The state also takes into account the interest of all people in Malacca, regardless of race and religion," said Kemal. - Mkini
