Sabah has decided to relax travel rules for those who have been vaccinated.
Starting tomorrow (Oct 14), interdistrict travel will be allowed for fully vaccinated adults and their children under 12, as well as for teens aged 12 to 18 who have received at least one vaccine.
Meanwhile, interstate travel will be allowed starting Nov 1.
For outsiders coming into Sabah, besides the vaccination requirements - which are the same for interdistrict travel - they must also perform either a rapid or PCR Covid-19 test at most three days before entry.
The new rules were announced by Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor in a statement.
Satisfied with CITF's report
Hajiji said the state government was satisfied with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force's (CITF) report which said that fully vaccination rates in Sabah had exceeded 70 percent on Oct 11.
However, according to the government's Covid-19 and tracker CovidNow, the rate of fully vaccinated adults in Sabah as of last night (Oct 12) was at 66 percent - the lowest in the country.
It is unclear why there is a discrepancy.
Interstate travel for the rest of the country had been allowed since Monday.
