MALACCA POLLS | PAS' Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz has congratulated BN over the coalition's major victory in the just concluded Malacca state election.
The Bachok MP also offered a condolence message to his own party whose candidates had unofficially lost their deposits in seven out of eight contested seats.
"Congratulations Malacca from Pulau Melaka.
"Congratulations BN from a friend in MN (Muafakat Nasional). Condolence to PAS from PAS," remarked Nik Abduh (above), who was among several PAS leaders who failed to secure a spot in the party's central leadership council at its recent election, said to be due to his support for maintaining cooperation with Umno rather than Perikatan Nasional (PN).
"BN, be truly grateful and even more grateful. For PAS, truly look within ourselves. Increase our dedication," he said in a Facebook post.
Official results so far put BN in a comfortable win to form the state government with at least 20 out of 28 seats.
PN on the other hand won two seats, while Pakatan Harapan secured five seats.
Meanwhile, another PAS leader, Mohd Khairudin Aman Razali, expressed hope that the outcome of the Malacca polls will not affect relations at the federal level.
"Winning or losing is a normal part of elections. We hope what is happening at the federal level will not change," the former minister told reporters in Malacca. - Mkini
