No Malaysians affected by Syria quake, says Wisma Putra

 

Wisma Putra advised Malaysians in the affected areas to adhere to announcements by local authorities.

PUTRAJAYA: 

No Malaysians are reported to have been affected by the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that struck near Hama, Syria, on Monday night, says Wisma Putra.

In a statement, the foreign ministry said it is closely monitoring the situation in Syria, adding that the Malaysian high commission in Beirut and the honorary consul in Syria are actively working with local authorities to gather information and assess the situation.

Malaysians in the affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to announcements by local authorities,

 said the ministry.

The ministry also urged Malaysians in Syria who have not yet registered their whereabouts to do so immediately at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my.
