Umno wings lodge report against Muhyiddin over ‘3R’ remarks

PETALING JAYA: 

The Youth and Puteri wings of Pekan Umno have lodged a police report against Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly questioning the authority of the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Pekan Umno Youth chief Fakhrul Akhmal Mohamed said Muhyiddin, as a former prime minister, should have avoided such statements and instead set a good example for younger leaders.

He ought to have been more careful with his statements,

 Bernama quoted Fakhrul as saying.

He said the police report, which was jointly filed with the Puteri Umno wing, was made to demand stern action against Muhyiddin and prevent such incidents from reoccurring.

Earlier this evening, Umno vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail called on the authorities to take action against Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, for his allegedly disrespectful remarks about Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

It is believed that the reports are about an election campaign speech in which Muhyiddin claimed to have the support of 115 MPs after the 2022 general election and should have been called by the king to be appointed as the 10th prime minister. - FMT
