
PUTRA HEIGHTS: Petronas representatives have shut off the valve to the exploded pipeline.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the operations commander at the scene received a report that the pipeline valve has been shut.
"We have yet to determine just how far away the valve is from the scene of the incident.
"We also confirm that several houses have been damaged in the fire and our personnel has rescued seven people including two senior citizens," he said when contacted today.
He said a total of 78 personnel and 10 fire engines, four emergency medical rescue service vehicles, five water tankers, the HAZMAT unit, aerial ladder platfrom unit, as well as a breathing apparatus unit have responded to the scene. - NST
