The MACC has cleared Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak of alleged links to the Sabah mining scandal, after investigations found that no exploration licence was issued to a company owned by the businessperson.
MACC chief Azam Baki said during a press conference today that the investigation papers against the former aide to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim were submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers, which found that no charges can be brought against any party.
“We have called all the parties involved [...] No criminal charges can be brought against any party. There is also no governance issue.
“This case has already been closed,” he told reporters in Putrajaya.
Azam clarified that a company linked to Farhash had in March 2023 applied for a mineral exploration licence to Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd (SMM), but had failed to submit the requested documents.
The application was terminated in March this year as a result. - Mkini
