All technical delegation heads and competition managers for the 22nd Malaysia Games (Sukma) today signed a corruption-free pledge to ensure that next year’s biennial national sporting event is free from corruption and abuse of power.
The signing ceremony, held at a hotel in Shah Alam, was witnessed by the MACC Kuala Lumpur director, Zakkuan Talib.
Also present were Olympic Council of Malaysia secretary-general Nasir Ali, Sukma Selangor 2026 Secretariat CEO Yazid Sairi, and National Sports Council director-general Jefri Ngadirin.
Jefri, when met after the event, said the pledge symbolises the agreement and commitment of all officials to carry out their responsibilities with transparency and integrity.
“It also marks the pledge by all involved that they are free from corruption, which will ensure Sukma 2026 is conducted professionally and in accordance with good governance and best practices,” he said.
Sukma Selangor 2026 is scheduled to be held from Aug 15 to 24, while Para Sukma will take place from Sept 5 to 14, with the Sepang International Circuit as the venue for the opening ceremony.
