This could be a key factor in the race for the Darau seat, which Warisan won with a majority of just 562 votes.

Sepanggar Warisan committee member Sabar Dasad led the exodus and submitted their application forms to Gagasan Rakyat secretary-general Razali Razi.
It was also witnessed by Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) deputy president Yong Vui Chung and Ismail Sabran, the Balung Gagasan Rakyat Youth vice-chief and former Warisan Youth deputy chief.
The entrance of the 300 now-Warisan members could be a key factor in the race for the Darau seat, which Warisan’s Azhar Matussin won in the 2020 state polls with a majority of just 562 votes.
Razali, known to locals as Bob, is in a six-cornered race for the seat representing Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), while Azhar is hoping to represent the constituency for a second term.
They also face Barisan Nasional’s Arfandy Abdul Rahman, Perikatan Nasional’s Nabila Norsahar, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat’s Nordin Thani and Parti Impian Sabah’s Meriah Osman.
Azhar had also faced a six-cornered fight in Darau in 2020, taking on candidates from BN, LDP, Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), Usno and Gagasan Rakyat.
