After hours-long meet, Bersatu MPs reiterate support for Muhyiddin

One MP leaving Muhyiddin Yassin’s home says there were no discussions about replacing Hamzah Zainudin as opposition leader.

A video released by Bersatu showed the 18 MPs who attended tonight’s meeting stating their support for Muhyiddin Yassin, with Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin leading a short chant.
KUALA LUMPUR:
 Bersatu MPs who attended a closed-door meeting at Muhyiddin Yassin’s house tonight have reiterated their support for the former prime minister to stay on as party president.

A video released by Bersatu showed the 18 MPs who attended tonight’s meeting taking part in a short chant stating their support for Muhyiddin.

Bersatu vice-president and Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin led the chants as the MPs said, “We support the president.”

Muhyiddin, the Perikatan Nasional chairman, was seated in between Radzi and Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin, the opposition leader.

MPs started leaving Muhyiddin’s home in Bukit Damansara here around 11.19pm.

Sabak Bernam MP Kalam Salan told reporters here that the Bersatu MPs had discussed the Nov 29 Sabah state election as well as ways to strengthen the party.

“There were no discussions about replacing the opposition leader,” he said, in response to a viral letter purportedly urging for Radzi to replace Hamzah as the leader of the opposition in the Dewan Rakyat. - FMT
