The former Dewan Rakyat speaker says he is determined to win the seat before calling it a day on his political career.

The former Dewan Rakyat speaker said the relatively new state seat, which falls under the Kota Belud parliamentary constituency, is significant to him.
“Before the curtain falls on my political career, I want to win the Pintasan seat. It holds a special place in my heart,” he told FMT.
Pandikar contested the seat in the 2020 Sabah election, only to lose by 84 votes to Perikatan Nasional’s Fairuz Renddan in a six-cornered fight.
This time around, he will be facing off against 10 others, including Fairuz, who is contesting as an independent.
For Pandikar, the race to victory is even more important as it could be the last time he stands for election.
“This is personal for me,” he added.
On Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) chances in the state polls, Pandikar said the coalition, to which Usno belongs, was on the right track to retain power.
He said GRS’s direction gave the coalition an edge over the others, which he described as unstable or facing issues in terms of leadership.
“GRS can remain in power as we have a clear agenda. Some don’t even know who their chief minister candidate is.” - FMT
