WHY THE SUDDEN SILENCE ON MACC CHIEF’S SEX SCANDAL WITH MARRIED WOMAN? IS ALI HAMSA & IGP COVERING UP FOR DZULKIFLI OR ARE THEY WAITING FOR MORE VIDEOS TO CROP UP?

An opposition lawmaker today demanded the chief secretary to the government, Ali Hamsa, to probe the alleged extramarital affair involving MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad in accordance with the Public Service General Orders.
“I want to know what is the role of the chief secretary to the government. According to the general orders, the MACC chief commissioner should be probed,” Johari Abdul (PKR-Sungai Petani) told Dewan Rakyat.
“I remember how a secretary-general (who was) accused of having an affair with a married woman had been fired (following investigation).
“Will the chief secretary cover up the issue? Will the MACC chief be compromised in future cases (probed by the graft-buster) due to his wrongdoing?” he asked.
Johari said this in response to Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) who raised Dzulkifli’s case, now being probed under Section 498 of Penal Code, as well as Ops Gopi, where the MACC conducted probe on police officers allegedly receiving kickbacks from gambling and vice in return for protection.
A series of videos have been posted on social media, alleging that Dzulkifli (photo) was involved in an extramarital affair, leading to the woman’s divorce.
Gobind slammed the inaction on these high profile cases and questioned whether there have been any cover-ups by the enforcement authorities.
“Was Dzulkifli the man in the video clip? Was he on an official trip to Bali at that time? We noticed several officers inside the video. Are they MACC officers? Did MACC know about it?” he asked.
G Manivannan (PKR-Kapar) then stood up and questioned if MACC and the police are covering up for each other since they are probing each other, on Ops Gopi and Dzulkifli’s extramarital affairs.
“They are probing each other and this is the crux of the country’s major issues. Does that mean that the police and MACC will compromise with each other?
“This is how we see it. MACC and police have to take care of each other so that there would be no blowups,” he said.

‘I WILL ARREST MO1 & OTHER SHARKS’: MAHATHIR SENDS A CHEER ACROSS DEMORALISED MALAYSIA

PAKATAN HARAPAN today announced its pledge to clean Malaysia from corruption as part of its manifesto for the coming general election.
PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said during the first 100 days of PH in power, it would:
1. Arrest Malaysia Official1(MO1) and other “sharks”.
2. Set up a royal commission inquiry to investigate the misappropriate of funds in 1MDB and Felda,
4. To make MACC an independent body that reports direct to Parliament.
5. To eliminate direct negotiations for government contracts.
Also present at the press conference were other leaders such as PH president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Armada youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, DAP leaders Teresa Kok and Liew Chin Tong among others.
The pledge to fight corruption is not as new as PH has repeated it during its many roadshows across the country.
The latest was at the Love Malaysia, End Kleptocracy rally in Petaling Jaya on October 14.

BE CAREFUL HADI, DON’T OPEN YOUR OWN & NAJIB’S PANDORA’S BOX: REVEAL YOUR SOURCE – PAS DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM AMBIGA

PAS has demanded an apology from former Bar Council chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan over the allegation that the Islamist party received some RM90 million from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
The allegation is now the subject of a defamation suit filed in the UK against Sarawak Report editor Claire Rewcastle-Brown by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that Rewcastle-Brown, who is based in London, had mentioned Ambiga as her source in her court filings.
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad said as an activist who champions human rights, Ambiga should admit and apologise for her alleged actions.
“She should apologise as a lawyer who champions integrity, justice and clean elections… It is not proper for her (to remain quiet),” Idris told reporters when met at Parliament.
Ambiga had told Malaysiakini yesterday that she cannot comment on the matter as it involved a court proceeding.
In her Oct 11 filing, Rewcastle-Brown claimed that Ambiga told her of Najib’s relationship with PAS, including the alleged financial arrangements between the two parties, and the motivations behind it.
“Ambiga had told the defendant that her sources, whom she said were reliable, had estimated the amount that had been paid was around RM90 million,” her document states.
Rewcastle-Brown said she published parts of her conversation with Ambiga – in the form of an article in Sarawak Report – in good faith as a political commentary on a matter of public interest and concern.
Idris also questioned the ethics of Sarawak Report for publishing an allegation based on a source.
Prior to making such a claim, he said, Sarawak Report should have traced the purported financial transaction to determine the veracity of the allegation.
“…All this time, they (Sarawak Report) were able to trace information from the US Department of Justice regarding the RM2.6 billion in Najib’s accounts. So, why did they rely on hearsay from Ambiga on this issue (concerning PAS)?” he asked.
Similarly, PAS information chief Nasruddin Hassan also urged Ambiga to break her silence on the matter, which has soiled the party’s image.
“As a lawyer, Ambiga must respond promptly. Who is her source? Was it just an assumption (on her part that PAS received money from Najib)?” Nasruddin asked.

JAKARTA: A strong earthquake with a 6.3 magnitude struck eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, causing some damage to buildings and sending people running from their homes.
The quake struck at a depth of 32.4 kilometres (20 miles) and was centred 32km west of Hila on the island of Ambon, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
There were no immediate reports of injuries and no tsunami warning was issued. The USGS website assessed the likelihood of deaths or major damage as low.
“There was damage and it is still being monitored,” Mochammad Riyadi, an official at Indonesia’s meteorology and geophysics agency, told AFP.
The earthquake was one of five tremors that rattled Maluku province within 30 minutes, according to the agency. The others were all under magnitude 6.
“People panicked and scattered out of houses and buildings,” said national disaster mitigation agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho.
Indonesia sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where tectonic plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
An earthquake struck Indonesia’s western province of Aceh last December, killing more than 100 people, injuring many more and leaving tens of thousands homeless. -FMT

Najib: Luar bandar tak perlu internet kelajuan tinggi

-FMT

DAP MP on the glaring Ops Lalang fact that MCA’s Ti left out

Kasthuri Patto says Ti Lian Ker forgot to mention the role of Najib, and that the MCA is in denial over its own role in the many laws that threaten fundamental liberties.
Kasthuri_PattoKUALA LUMPUR: The MCA has been complicit in the introduction and implementation of “draconian” laws and laws that infringe on human rights, a DAP MP said today. However, Kasthuri Patto said, the party was in denial.
She also said, in making allegations against the DAP, and noting that former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was behind the Operasi Lalang dragnet in 1987, the MCA’s Ti Lian Ker had conveniently left out an important fact.
The Member of Parliament for Batu Kawan said Ti left out the “glaring fact” that 10 days before Ops Lalang, then acting Umno Youth chief Najib Razak had rallied a “rowdy, racist crowd” at the TPCA Stadium.
She claimed in a statement that Najib had “stirred” the racially-sparked crowd bearing banners against Chinese Malaysians.
It was the same Najib, who had “vilified his very friends and supporters” in BN component parties that day, who was today instrumental in implementing laws that threatened fundamental liberties, she said.
She said after Ops Lalang, a white paper was tabled as an “important document” in parliament by the then home minister in 1988, entitled “Towards Preserving National Security” and that this paper contained reports of what Najib had done that day.
The DAP Wanita publicity secretary charged that Ti had “totally missed the mark” and was still in denial about the current state of affairs under Najib’s leadership and the slew of “equally draconian, unjust laws” such as the amendments to the Prevention of Crime Act, the Prevention of Terrorism Act, the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act, and the Peaceful Assembly Act.
She mentioned Section 124B of the Penal Code, which says: “Whoever, by any means, directly or indirectly, commits an activity detrimental to parliamentary democracy shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to twenty years”.
“What is not only peculiar and yet downright astonishing, is the fact that MCA Members of Parliament stood in the Dewan Rakyat and shamelessly voted in support of these draconian laws which threaten democracy, freedom and justice as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.”
She asked why the MCA was attacking the DAP now, when it had a chance, 30 years ago, to “make a bold stand in the cabinet and in parliament against these laws which had incarcerated eight MCA leaders under Operasi Lalang”.
Kasthuri added: “Ti Lian Ker and his party members are crying wolf, too little, too late as there will be no end to Operasi Lalang as it will most definitely repeat itself through the barrage of laws introduced, supported and passed in the Malaysian parliament by none other than the Najib administration consisting of MCA ministers, deputy ministers and MPs alongside those from Umno, MIC and other Barisan Nasional component parties.
“The DAP has been steadfast, resolute and unwavering in the 50 years against any form of law that suppresses fundamental liberties as what Barisan Nasional has been doing for 60 years now. What is MCA’s stand on these laws?”
Among other things, Ti had yesterday said that this was the 30th year of the “biggest crackdown on innocents”.
“Looking back, the protagonists or villains of the ‘dark period’ known as Ops Lalang were none other than Dr Mahathir who was then both prime minister and home minister, and his protégé then, Anwar Ibrahim, who was the education minister.”
Noting that one of those detained under Ops Lallang was DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, Ti said it was “peculiar” that Lim was now canvassing votes for both Dr Mahathir and Anwar.
“DAP may have chosen to forgive these villains for reasons personal to themselves, or whatever. DAP may have chosen to absolve the villains of Ops Lalang but there are others including MCA politicians who are innocent victims of this blatant abuse of power and disregard for fair play.”
