PKR POLLS | Deputy presidency contender Azmin Ali said his challenger Rafizi Ramli is still "very much needed" in PKR, and assured he will work with the latter to strengthen the party towards facing the 15th general election.
“I strongly believe that my dear friend has a role to play in the party. He has been in the party for many years.
“I can certainly work with saudara Rafizi to strengthen the party and prepare for the next (general) election,” Azmin told a press conference after opening the PKR Youth and Women’s wings at the party’s 13th national congress tonight.
However, he added, it is yet to be decided what position Rafizi, who is currently incumbent vice-president, will hold in the party.
The Gombak MP believed Rafizi has a good understanding of the Reformasi struggle and thus, was still needed in the party.
“Certainly we need every single contribution of Rafizi’s and (that of) many others [...] to strengthen the party."
Both Azmin and Rafizi have had a bitter rivalry in the PKR polls which is set to come to a close soon.
Rafizi has even named Azmin as being the one behind some of the chaos that he claims deprived him of victory in several divisions. - Mkini
