CABINET RESHUFFLE? AZIZAH SAYS ‘YA, YA, PLEASE ASK PM’: WHILE ANWAR SAYS PKR NOT SUBMITTING NEW NAMES – ‘NO ONE HAS TALKED TO ME ABOUT NEED FOR CHANGE’

KUALA LUMPUR: Cabinet reshuffle? Please ask Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Momahad, says Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail when asked to comment on the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle.
“Ya… ya… please ask the Prime Minister. Thank you,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
It was reported that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said that he was open to the idea of reshuffling his Cabinet, reported The Straits Times.
Following the conclusion of the PKR elections last weekend, Dr Mahathir maintained that he has the final say on Cabinet appoints, and did not rule out making changes if PKR were to make nominations.
“They (PKR) can submit names, they can argue their case. I have my own views also.
“And the principle is that this Cabinet is chaired by me as the Prime Minister and I need to have people who I am comfortable with. So whether I accept nominations from them or not, is really up to me,” Dr Mahathir told The Straits Times on Tuesday (Nov 13).
However, Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik had rubbished such speculations of a purported Cabinet reshuffle.
“It’s just talk. I would like to reiterate that it (talk of a Cabinet reshuffle) was started by the Opposition as a smokescreen, a diversion and red herring from the real issue,” he said when met at Parliament’s lobby on Tuesday. – the star

Anwar: PKR will not submit new names in likelihood of Cabinet reshuffle

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR will not submit any new names to the Prime Minister following the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The PKR incoming president said it was up to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to call for a reshuffle but the party will not submit any new names.
“No one in party alerted me about the need for change or to submit any new names. So as it stands, no change,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Wednesday (Nov 14).
When pressed further to explain if he had any intention to add new names since he will be officially announced as PKR president at its upcoming congress, the Port Dickson MP said: “Right now no one has talked to me about the need for change,” he said.
At a separate press conference, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, who is also DAP secretary-general, said the party did not submit any names to the Prime Minister following talks of a Cabinet reshuffle.
