Gov't to release report on tackling debts, restructuring - PM

The Pakatan Harapan government is expected to release a full report next year on the efforts to tackle the huge debts as well as on the restructuring of the administration.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said this after attending a dinner function by the Administrative and Diplomatic Officers' Alumni Association at Royale Chulan Damansara this evening.
"We will release the report next year. We want to see the result of the actions that have been taken by the government both on the huge debts that we have to carry and also on the restructuring of the government's administration," he said, adding that some ministries have to change a lot on the way they work.
Earlier in his speech, Mahathir said he was optimistic that the country would make a comeback.
"Next year, we will able to make full report on how much we have done. We are definitely on the way back, provided that we work hard and be honest, not influenced by corruption, and don't steal money.
"I'm sure we will once again become the Asian tiger."
Mahathir also reiterated his hope that the country will become a developed nation by 2025.
"I was sure we would achieve Vision 2020 by 2020. But now we cannot achieve Vision 2020, and we postpone it for five years (from the year 2020). Then, we will be able to become a developed country," he said.  -Mkini
