My foot - deputy speaker's reaction to Parliament reflexology centre idea

The suggestion for a reflexology centre in Parliament has rubbed Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming the wrong way with him saying the idea was “beyond imagination”.
"Parliament is the highest institution in the country. It is beyond imagination to hear a suggestion from an MP to set up a foot massage centre in Parliament.
"All parties, especially MPs, must show their highest respect to Parliament which is the place where government policy is formulated and law enacted.
"MPs should lead by example and not otherwise," Nga told Malaysiakini.
Nga was responding to a proposal from Abdul Azeez Rahim (BN-Baling) earlier today who suggested that the Parliament complex's now-defunct smoking room be converted into a reflexology centre.
Azeez said the centre could then help employ blind reflexologists.
He was speaking during Minister in the Prime Minister's Department VK Liew's winding-up speech at the committee stage for the Budget 2019 debate.
Liew said there is currently a project to build a new block equipped with various health facilities for lawmakers.
"So we do not necessarily need to massage our bodies for health," the minister replied. - Mkini
