IPOH: Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is urging the Pakatan Harapan leadership to investigate claims of certain state executive councillors making offers to Umno assemblymen to overthrow the Mentri Besar.
State Bersatu Youth chief Mohd Hafez Mubin Mohd Salleh they viewed the matter seriously.
He said stern action must be taken if there is any truth to the claims made by state Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad.
"The state executive councillors must be fired or dropped as exco members, and disciplinary action must be taken.
"This is because such an act of conspiring with Opposition assemblymen to overthrow the state government elected by the people cannot be compromised," he said in a statement on Monday (Nov 26).
On Sunday (Nov 25), Saarani claimed elections may be held in Perak due to an impending vote of no confidence against Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
He claimed troubles were brewing among exco members from the Pakatan government.
Saarani claimed there were plans to pass a vote of no confidence against the Mentri Besar as more than one of the exco members had approached some five to six Umno assemblymen to support their decision.
Mohd Hafez Mubin said the people had given their mandate and trust to Pakatan, and the Sultan of Perak had also consented to Ahmad Faizal running the state government.
He said all parties must stop creating unnecessary issues that do not benefit the people.
"Issues that can create frictions and disputes must be stopped if we really want to restore and rebuild the state," he added.- Star
