Rafizi secures big win in Pensiangan to keep pace with Azmin in PKR polls

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s interior PKR Pensiangan may have turned the tide for Rafizi Ramli who secured 2,388 votes for the deputy presidency with incumbent Datuk Seri Azmin Ali left trailing with 262 votes.
The unofficial Pensiangan results from the re-polling Sunday (Nov 11) is likely to put both Azmin and Rafizi in a neck and neck race to win Sabah in. Azmin had, until Saturday (Nov 10), an unofficial lead of  between  2,000 to 2,500 votes for PKR’s number 2 post.
“Pensiangan elections has been smooth but a bit slow because only 60 iPads were used though we had prepared 80 for them,” Sabah PKR election coordinator Rosli Masaliku said when contacted.
Rafizi on Saturday had won a razor thin three-vote victory over Azmin in the Keningau PKR repolls.
Meanwhile, results of the repolling in Tawau PKR are still not available as at 6.45pm and there were several reports of “double voting” that marred the process.
Tawau might just push back Azmin back in the lead in Sabah, according to party officials.
Pensiangan PKR is headed by Raymond Ahuar who is part of Rafizi's camp while Tawau PKR is led by Datuk Kong Hong Ming who is part of Team Azmin. - Star
