THE Pakatan Harapan presidential council had never discussed the length of time of Dr Mahathir Mohamad would serve as prime minister, Bernama reports its secretariat chief, Saifuddin Abdullah, as saying.
The foreign minister said what was agreed upon was that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim would be next prime minister after Dr Mahathir.
“PH only decided and agreed that after Dr Mahathir, Anwar Ibrahim will be the next prime minister. We never discussed a term limit because the two of them have an understanding.
“They are prominent leaders who should be able to determine the best time for a transition of power,” he said when asked if there was a concrete agreement that Dr Mahathir will be prime minister for only two years.
Saifuddin who is Indera Mahkota MP, was speaking after delivering a motivational talk to Sixth former at SM Astana in Kuantan.
