PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak took a swipe at the Pakatan Harapan government over their attempt to stop him from issuing statements via social media.
Najib said it was among the pre-conditions that the Pakatan government attempted to impose on him before he was released on bail last year.
"Is it so dangerous for me to play on Facebook?" he asked.
He said many people were not aware that the Pakatan government had tried to impose two conditions upon him prior to his release.
"The conditions were that I was not allowed to organise or attend public events, except for religious events. (And) I was not allowed to issue any statements using social media, including Facebook and Twitter.
"Alhamdulillah (Praise Upon Allah), the judge had rejected the conditions.
"And through social media, I can now explain and deny slanders by Pakatan against me and the (former) Barisan Nasional government," he said.- Star
