Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has mocked the latest political appointment made by Rural and Regional Minister Rina Harun.
Rina, who is also Bersatu Wanita chief, had appointed two Bersatu supreme council members and a lawyer to entities under her ministry.
"Pakatan Harapan will put political appointees in government-linked companies - Malaysia Baru - breaking its promises since May 10, 2018," Khairy said in a Twitter posting.
Bersatu supreme council member Sukiman Sarmani was appointed as the Universiti Teknikal Mara (Unitek-Mara) chairperson while another supreme council member Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi was appointed as Mara Corporation Sdn Bhd chairperson.
Meanwhile, Haniff Khatri Abdulla, who had served as Mahathir's lawyer, was appointed as the chairperson of Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah.
In a statement today, the Rural and Regional Ministry said the appointments were recommended by Rina.
It added the proposed appointments were presented to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad who gave his consent.- Mkini
