The Perlis Health Department today issued warning notices to four eatery operators in an anti-smoking operation, for failing to display the no-smoking sign according to specifications.
Its director Dr Sirajuddin Hashim said these eatery operators were given six months to follow the directive, which was effective yesterday.
He said all eatery premises should display the no-smoking sign of 50cm x 40cm in size.
“The joint operation with the Kangar Municipal Council’s (MPK) enforcement unit, conducted at 20 eateries, however, found no one flouting the new regulation,” he told reporters after the operation.
In the operation, the Health Department and council also distributed no-smoking information leaflets at food outlets and popular public places.
