MIRI: The police here have arrested five men during a raid at the Muara Tabuan industrial site following a spate of break-ins affecting 13 factories.
Sarawak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Dennis Leong said that the raid was conducted on Saturday (Jan 5) morning following reports lodged by the factory operators.
He added that police raided workers' quarters and houses in and around the industrial estate to nab the suspects.
SAC Leong said Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii and Padungan state assemblyman Violet Yong had also met him and the Kuching police about the cases.
He added that the police will step up their presence in the area. -Star
