KUCHING: Sarawak government officers will receive a two-month bonus to be paid by the end of this year, Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg said.
The minimum payment by the state government would be RM2,000, he said.
However, he said the provision of the bonus would not involve ministers and assemblymen.
“This is not the first time the state government is giving a bonus to its civil servants. They received the same amount last year,” he said, urging the state’s civil servants to continue their good job.
Abang Johari said the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government was paying the bonus following concern over civil servants’ welfare and also due to the increased cost of living. - FMT
