Drastic changes needed if Harapan to survive more than one term: Muhyiddin

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has warned that there needed to be drastic changes as soon as possible if the Pakatan Harapan government wanted to survive beyond one term.
"If Harapan wants to survive for more than one term, major drastic changes have to happen in many areas whether it is policy, implementation, budget policy, fiscal policy, in terms of leadership and many, many things which we believe are important, we have to look at it," Muhyiddin told reporters at the Parliament building today.
This comes after Harapan's defeat in the Tanjung Piai by-election on Saturday which BN won by a whopping 15,085-vote majority.
He said they would have to look at more pro-rakyat policies which they could implement and focus on the development of the economy as these were issues which greatly affected the B40 class.

Though there were financial factors to consider, he said they would have to bring the matter to Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to re-examine how they could implement such things.
Muhyiddin also said he was shocked by BN's 15,085-vote majority in Tanjung Piai, saying that none of the think-tanks or even the government's intelligence outfits had predicted such a number.
"But what is important is that after the election, we already have the results. We know and we should pay great attention to this.
"This is a sign. It is a democratic process, we have to respect the views of our voters.
"We know they make their own decisions and there must be very real reasons why they did that," he said.
