TG PIAI POLLS | MCA has hit out at Pakatan Harapan for distributing free SIM cards at a ceramah last night.
According to MCA president Wee Ka Siong, Celcom prepaid SIM cards were distributed at a ceramah in Tenggayun.
"Is this another 'planned coincidence'? Is Harapan allowed to use such tactics to fish for votes? Is this legal?
"Will Bersih or the Election Commission take action? Ha ha ha," wrote Wee on his Facebook page.
According to KiniTV video journalist Baharudin Suarnur, the SIM cards - which retails at RM10 each - were distributed at the start of a ceramah.
Of late, several cabinet ministers have been criticised for announcing federal government funds for a number of projects in the parliamentary constituency.
The Johor government were also panned for not suspending the issuance of an annual RM1,000 cash handout to fisherfolk in Tanjung Piai until after the by-election.
According to the Election Commission, it has observed 64 campaign violations, of which most were related to attaching campaign materials to public facilities.
None of these include inducements. Polling day in the Tanjung Piai by-election is next Saturday.
