PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysia Airlines flight MH360, which departed from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing yesterday evening, experienced an air-turnback due to a landing gear issue.
In a statement today, Malaysia Airlines said in the interest of passenger safety, the operating captain made a decision to return to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
“The aircraft landed safely at 9.03pm on the same day and the problem is currently being rectified by engineers.”
It was reported that the flight MH360 departed KLIA at 6pm yesterday and was scheduled to arrive in Beijing, China at 12.20am today.
Malaysia Airlines said the MH360 flight was later serviced by another aircraft and departed from Kuala Lumpur at 12.30am today, arriving in Beijing at 6.35am.
Malaysia Airlines added that refreshments were provided to all passengers and arrangements were made for all onward connections.
“Safety is Malaysia Airlines’ number one priority at all times.
“It regrets the inconvenience caused to its passengers,” it added. -FMT
