Pakatan Can Never Eliminate Corruption When Pakatan Itself Is Corrupt

Jesus could not end corruption. Moses could not end corruption. Buddha could not end corruption. Prophet Muhammad could not end corruption. Do you think Liew Vui Keong of Pakatan can when the corruption is being perpetuated at all levels of government by his own party?

NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Jesus Christ was a reformer. He was the first man in “recent” history to shout “Reformasi”, long before Anwar Ibrahim made that word popular in Malaysia in 1998. Jesus did not introduce a new religion, as some may believe. He was just trying to reform an old religion from the days of Abraham and Moses that had been corrupted over time.
But Jesus lost — 1:0 in favour of the Pharisees.
Moses, called Moshe Rabbenu or “Moses our teacher” in Hebrew, was also a reformer. He came about 1,000 years after Abraham to also reform the religion of Abraham that had been corrupted over time. But it was not easy and as soon as Moses turned his back his people went back to idol worshipping (the golden calf).
Just for the record, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, plus 124,000 other Prophets (although the names of only 25 Prophets are mentioned in the Qur’an) are also prophets of the Muslims.

How can Pakatan eliminate corruption when the rot starts from the head?

But this discussion is not about theology. It is about human nature. All through the ages many reformists have tried to eliminate corruption. But all failed, in spite of the help from God. Humans, by nature, are corrupt. And both Genesis and the Qur’an explain why. In short, the forbidden fruit is very tempting and sweet. Hence humans always want what they should not want.
Cabinet Minister Liew Vui Keong said Pakatan Harapan is committed to fighting corruption (READ NEWS ITEM BELOW). Is this guy for real or is this just another of many false promises from Pakatan that is never going to be delivered? Corruption is the oldest sin in the world — murder being number two (remember Cain and Abel?), followed by prostitution.
It was because Eve was corrupted by Satan, who in turn corrupted Adam, that all our problems started. If not, I would be living in Eden, not in Manchester.

There is no reduction in corruption under the new Pakatan Harapan government and it is business as usual

Anyway, corruption has always shaped history since time immemorial so it is impossible to eliminate it.
The British corrupted the Chinese 200 years ago, which is why today China has a problem called Hong Kong. If not, Hong Kong would not exist and the Chinese leaders in Beijing would not be having this huge headache.
The British corrupted the Malays 200 years ago, which is why they were able to control the Sultans and in 1946 created the Malayan Union, followed by the Federation of Malaya in 1948. (If not, Malaysia would still be part of Indonesia and there would be no DAP today).
The British corrupted the Indians 300 years ago, which is why they were able to turn India into “British India” and managed to plunder trillions from what used to be one of the richest nations in the world.
Yes, all over the world, for thousands of years, if you were to study history, you will find that corruption shapes history and determines the future of humankind. Humans exist because of corruption. If not, Adam and Eve would be still running around in Eden playing hide and seek.
Pakatan Harapan says they are going to fight corruption and will eliminate corruption. Of course, when they say this, they merely mean commission or kickbacks on government contracts, licences, permits, concessions, quotas, etc. But that is not the only corruption or the worst form of corruption.

DAP is old wine in a new bottle and corruption under DAP is no different from before

Pakatan Harapan appoints all their people as councillors. Their people get appointed to GLCs. Their people are given strategic positions in the government. This is the reward for being “their people”. The total cost for all these positions runs into billions, which the taxpayers cannot see but which the taxpayers pay for. Yes, billions of Ringgit of taxpayers’ money goes to “their people”.
This is called political patronage or cronyism, which is a form of corruption. It used to be done by Barisan Nasional and is now being continued by Pakatan Harapan. And that is corruption however you look at it or try to justify it.
Malaysians normally look at just the Cabinet posts. That is nothing. Look at the rest of those who walk in the corridors of power. The Chief of Police, Chief of the Judiciary, Chief of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Chief of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, all the way down to the Councillors in the local councils are all Pakatan supporters or party members.

Malaysia is going to the dogs and the Chinese voters now realise this

Lawyers given legal work, consultants given consultancy jobs, GLC board members, plus businessmen given contracts, licences, permits, concessions, quotas, and so on, are all Pakatan Harapan people. Barisan used to do that and now Pakatan is also doing it.
So, corruption is not being eliminated, as Pakatan Harapan claims. It is still very much alive. The only difference is the corruption has been transferred from the hands of Barisan Nasional to the hands of Pakatan Harapan. But is still there nevertheless.
Jesus could not end corruption. Moses could not end corruption. Buddha could not end corruption. Prophet Muhammad could not end corruption. Do you think Liew Vui Keong of Pakatan can when the corruption is being perpetuated at all levels of government by his own party?

Minister says Putrajaya committed to fighting corruption

(MMO) – The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government is determined to free Malaysia of corruption through better policies, said Datuk Liew Vui Keong.
The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said the government was closer to fulfilling the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), especially Article 26 on “Liability of legal persons”, in tackling corruption in the private sector.
He said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act was amended to criminalise corruption within the private sector, with the law coming into effect next June.
“The giving and receiving of bribes to facilitate a commercial transaction is illegal under all established laws of civilised nation states.
“Thus, the PH government had tabled the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre Bill 2019 (NAFCC Bill) in Dewan Rakyat to track down illegal funds,” said Liew.
“What is novel in Section 17A is that controllers and or senior management personnel of commercial organisations may be exposed to severe criminal penalties if found guilty of contravening the MACC Act, unless the controllers and or senior management personnel of commercial organization are able to prove the corrupt act is carried out without his consent or connivance.”
Liew added that management and senior company officials must be diligent in avoiding corruption as there would soon be more avenues to punish this within the private sector.
He conceded that such provisions may cause business owners and firms to become overly cautious and said there were safeguards.
“As in other jurisdictions where similar laws have been passed, the law provides for a defence that mitigates the rigour of the potential personal liabilities that impact directors and management,” Liew explained.
“Section 17A (4) provides an avenue where members of boards which have established “Adequate Procedures “to defend against a prosecution under Section 17 A of the MACC Act.
“My office has received representations from the business community as to the scope and breadth of the laws and will study the same with diligence and attention. The rationale for the coming into effect of the laws on June 1 2019 is precisely for the government to fine tune the regulatory framework,” he added.
