Penang PKR Youth denies holding meeting tonight

Penang PKR Youth chief Fahmi Zainol has denied there is a meeting tonight involving the wing's leaders from all divisions and branches at the headquarters in Seberang Jaya.
Speaking to Malaysiakini, he claimed that the meeting was said to involve individuals aligned to Economic Affairs Minister and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.
The wing, Fahmi (above) added, had not invited the press to cover the event, which was supposedly planned to be held at Keadilan Square, on Jalan Baru.
However, some members of the press have received an invitation via Whatsapp to attend the event.

"We had to issue a statement after an invite was sent to the press, and our leaders and members, using Penang PKR Youth wing's name, " Fahmi said.
"Our denial is in line with PKR Youth central committee meeting where members have decided to focus on issues affecting youths and the rakyat, which need serious attention.
"Avoid any effort or action which can give space for conflict between youths in PKR," he added.
Asked if he knew what the private meeting was about, Fahmi replied: "Perhaps, they want to make certain announcements after their discussion".
It is learnt that a private meeting will be held at the venue by several former and current PKR Youth leaders and members.
As for press invite, Malaysiakini has yet to receive an invitation to attend the private meeting.
On Sunday, PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasir reiterated that the wing's congress next month will be officiated by party adviser Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Azmin's faction had complained that he should be officiating the congress as it's a norm for the deputy president to officiate the youth and women congresses.
This has intensified the factional conflict between Azmin and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, who has been promised the prime minister's post.
Anwar recently said some within the party have forgotten their roots, in what appears to be a veiled jab at his deputy Azmin.
Meanwhile, state PKR Youth communications director Nor Afni Md Yusuff described as "irresponsible" those who sent the "fake notice" without approval by Fahmi.
"Such action would only destroy the party's legal constitution," he added in a statement.
Nor Afni urged individuals involved in the meeting to refrain from inviting the media as the event is not "verified".
"We remind irresponsible quarters who spread the fake information that this is an offence under Section 211 and 233 of the 1998 Multimedia and Communication Act.
"If convicted, the offender can be fined not more than RM50,000 or jailed not more than a year, or both," he warned. - Mkini
