So, yes, not only Mahathir, but many of the DAP leaders have interfered in Najib’s SRC trial. By repeating again and again for five years that Najib stole RM42-50 billion of 1MDB’s money, they left the trial judge very little room to acquit Najib. The judge had only one option, which is to rule that there is a case against Najib and ask him to enter his defence.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Anwar Ibrahim said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad did not interfere in Najib Tun Razak’s SRC trial. Actually, that is not true and Anwar knows this.
Anwar is just trying to score points with Mahathir by bodeking him. But this bodek will not work because Mahathir has already decided that Anwar is NOT going to take over as PM8. And Mahathir is working on it to make sure that will be what happens.
Mahathir wants a Malaysian “Goh Chok Tong” to become PM8 so that Mukhriz can become PM9
Mahathir wants a PM8 who can play the role of Malaysia’s “Goh Chok Tong” so that Mukhriz can eventually take over as PM9. If Anwar is PM8, then Mukhriz is not going to be PM9. In fact, Mukhriz, along with his other siblings (and together with Mahathir himself), will most likely be in jail instead.
As what Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said, Mahathir does not trust Anwar (READ HERE: Dr Mahathir Doesn’t Trust Anwar, Says Ku Li On PM Handover). “I think he doesn’t want to give anybody he cannot completely trust because the person who succeeds him may go after him later,” said Ku Li.
Yes, Mahathir knows that Lim Kit Siang is trying to quell the Chinese unrest by whispering to them that DAP has not compromised on its principles and that once Mahathir steps down they are going to take criminal action against him. Currently, the Chinese are very angry with Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng for selling out to Mahathir and DAP’s 97% support amongst the Chinese community is eroding because of this betrayal.
Mahathir is scared that if Anwar becomes PM8 then not only will Mukhriz NOT become PM9 but the whole Mahathir clan might end up in jail
Anyway, Mahathir may not have personally called up the trial judge or the Chief Justice to give them specific instructions that Najib must lose his case. But the fact that for five years since 2014 Mahathir has been repeating and insisting non-stop (until today) that Najib stole RM42-50 billion of 1MDB’s money is as good as telling the judge and CJ what decision they should make.
How can the judge acquit Najib without calling for his defence when for five years, day in and day out, the Prime Minister “ruled” that Najib is guilty of stealing RM42-50 billion of 1MDB’s money? If the judge acquits Najib without calling for his defence, then that would be like calling Mahathir a liar. The judge has no choice but to “agree” with Mahathir and “support” Mahathir by asking Najib to enter his defence.
The AG Tommy Thomas was handpicked by DAP to make sure that Najib gets convicted and gets sent to jail
In fact, not only Mahathir but also many of the DAP leaders such as Kit Siang, Guan Eng, Tony Pua, etc., would be liars if Najib was acquitted without his defence being called. Hence the Attorney-General, Tommy Thomas, who is DAP’s attack dog, has to make sure Najib loses his case.
The AG was instrumental in making sure that the judge “toes the line” and rules against Najib. Any other ruling would be a great slap for DAP and after what the DAP leaders have been saying about Najib and 1MDB they cannot afford for Najib to be acquitted.
Mahathir must make sure that PM8 will be someone who will make Mukhriz PM9
So, yes, not only Mahathir, but many of the DAP leaders have interfered in Najib’s SRC trial. By repeating again and again for five years that Najib stole RM42-50 billion of 1MDB’s money, they left the trial judge very little room to acquit Najib. Anwar: Dr M did not interfere in Najib’s case
(MMO) – PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim rejected the allegation that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad meddled in one of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s criminal trials.
Anwar said there was no evidence of this.
“It (the allegation) is baseless. They can claim but the legal process is independent and transparent.”
“I don’t think we should entertain the allegations unless they can give some facts or evidence to support; otherwise we should allow the due process to proceed.”
“The judge has given enough leeway to the defence, let the process be respected,” he told reporters at the Parliament at the lobby today.
Separately, former Umno vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the allegation of interference should be raised with the judiciary.
“You have to ask those involved when we were the government we were accused of doing so as well. But the people who can answer are the judge and the prosecution.”
“At the end of the day the judiciary has to defend its own credibility and the integrity. It’s not about speculation or who is influencing who,” he said.
