PADANG BESAR (Bernama): A Creative Industries Management first-year student at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) did not expect the picturesque beauty of the Nakawan range in Perlis and the uniqueness of the geographical factors of Kampung Sahabat posted in her Instagram last year has captivated the world's leading technology company from the US, Apple.
Dinie Aiman Sukhaizar, 21, was contacted by Apple headquarters via email for permission to repost the picture on Apple's official Instagram page on Nov 26, 2019.
Interestingly enough, the beauty of the picture taken by the youngster using iPhone 7 plus received over 300,000 'likes' and increased the number of Apple followers to 21.3 million to date.
Dinie Aiman says her interest in photography started since she was 13, and she has taken her own initiative to explore photography.
"I love to use the Instagram site as an inspiration to create interesting, natural pictures without editing or applying special effects.
"I have learned a lot about creating visual images from photographers around the world who have shared on the Instagram site as a reference to produce more creative images," she said in Kampung Sahabat near here recently.
The Perlis-born student living in Kampung Guru said that her canvas-like picture, as well as the intricate elements of the story with the caption 'Humanity Turns A Photo Into A Story' that captured the eyes of the world, was based on the imaginative interaction of human and nature as complementing each other.
Dinie Aiman who began taking pictures of flowers said, her interest in taking pictures sparked off with her first smartphone, the Sony Xperia, followed by Nokia Lumia and Asus Android.
"In 2017 I tried the iPhone 6 brand and started creating an Instagram account the same year to share photos for fun with the hashtag‘ #shotoniphone ’,
"Today I am very excited when one of my creative photography works was chosen from millions of people around the world by Apple," she said with a smile.
To give the world a chance to see and experience the natural beauty of Perlis, the eldest of four siblings intends to organise a special programme to attract 'instagrammers' from inside and outside the country to come to Perlis.
She said she was in the process of drafting a paper to solicit donations from any parties to fulfil her intention of boosting tourism in Perlis.
"In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020), I hope to help boost the state's tourism industry, which carries the tagline ‘Perlis Permai lagi Mempersona’," she said.
Yesterday, the Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra (YTSP) Perlis presented the recognition award for Creative Photography in Perlis state to Dinie Aiman along with RM2,000 cash for promoting the state internationally.
