Cops record Latheefa's statement over audio recordings

PUTRAJAYA: Police have begun recording a statement from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya over the release of audio recordings.
Ten officers from the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department's special investigations division arrived at the MACC headquarters to meet Latheefa.
They arrived at 2.35pm Thursday (Jan 16).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador had said that police will summon several individuals, including Latheefa, over the case.
On Jan 8, Latheefa alleged at a press conference that the audio conversations pointed to “serious power abuse, criminal conspiracy, obstruction of justice and compromising national security".
She said these were made public after MACC investigations confirmed the “absolute authenticity” of the recordings.
The recordings were said to have taken place between Jan 5,2016, and July 29,2016.
The recordings, which were played to the media during the press conference, implicated several high-ranking officials, including former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. - Star
