The cabinet has decided on an acting education minister, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
However, Lim (above) said he will leave it up to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to make the announcement.
"We did make a decision on that, but let the prime minister announce it," Lim said in a press conference at the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) building in Kuala Lumpur today.
He was there to attend the IRB and Finance Ministry's joint weekly Customer Day, where officers will meet with taxpayers every Wednesday to answer any questions or help solve any problems they might have.

Maszlee Malik had announced his resignation as the education minister last Thursday.
After announcing his resignation, Maszlee had said that he was a victim of negative media reports that did not focus on the ministry's many achievements over the past 20 months.
"In the end, I as the education minister, was seen to have created many crises for the leadership, such as on Jawi, internet in schools and the free breakfast, among other issues," Maszlee had said.
Mahathir has since confirmed that he did ask Maszlee to resign from the cabinet, though he said not everything the former education minister did was wrong.
It was previously reported that a letter purportedly written by Mahathir to Maszlee had revealed that the latter was asked to quit because he failed to heed cabinet directives and often put Putrajaya in a difficult position. - Mkini
