Mohamaddin Ketapi 'not worried' of being axed from cabinet

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Mohamaddin Ketapi today brushed off speculations he would be next on the chopping block, citing he was not worried about being asked to resign.
According to the Warisan MP, his performance in leading the ministry was "almost 100 percent".
"I am not worried. Why should I? You know, if you want me to do my job, I will do my job. If you do not want me to do my job, anytime," he told reporters during a press conference at the Malaysia Tourism Centre in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Mohamaddin was responding to a question regarding yesterday's sudden resignation of Education Minister Maszlee Malik on the advice of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Shortly after Maszlee's resignation announcement (below), speculation became rife that more ministers would be asked to vacate their posts.
Just before the end of last year, several surveys conducted by media agencies on the performance of cabinet ministers showed that Maszlee was among those not desired by respondents.
An online survey done by Malaysiakini also showed that Mohamaddin was among the least favourites, allegedly for not performing in his capacity as a minister.
"Last year, I do not know. What I know was that my performance was close to 100 percent.
"So I do not know if close to 100 percent was good or not. That I do not know. It is up to you to answer," he said.
Mohamaddin was referring to the ministry's achievement of its key performance index (KPI) for the first half of last year, according to his officer who spoke to the media later.
Meanwhile, when asked if there would be any cabinet reshuffle, the minister said he did not have any information.
He then told members of the media that they should instead be asking Mahathir this question.
Mohamaddin also refused to comment on Maszlee's decision to resign. - Mkini
