KIMANIS POLLS | BN has alleged that its machinery was blocked from entering a kampung to campaign during the Kimanis by-election.
Speaking at a ceramah last night, BN candidate Mohamad Alamin told some 150 people that he received reports that the party's opponent was getting more aggressive.
"We (must) focus on our work and we shouldn't be scared and daunted (by this).
"I have received reports from (the BN machinery in a) few polling districts that our rival was getting so aggressive that they have resorted to violence.
"I was at the Batu Enam (polling district) for a house-to-house visit just now, I was blocked at a junction and questioned," he said.
Batu Enam is the polling district Mohamad will cast his ballot on Jan 18.
In the 2018 general election, Warisan won 51.48 percent out of 1,938 votes.
"They were trying to stop the machinery from entering the kampung and they said 'this is their stronghold'," said Mohamad, who is also the Kimanis Umno chief.
"I urge our machinery not to be afraid, we will continue to fight," he said at the ceramah in Mawao.
Mohamad (above), however, declined to elaborate on the issue saying that he was in a rush to get to another event.
The Kimanis by-election campaign officially began last Saturday and voters will go to the polls on Jan 18.
The by-election was called after the Election Court voided the Kimanis election results on grounds that the Election Commission failed to comply with election procedures.
