Warisan candidate vows to fight for Kimanis estate workers

KIMANIS POLLS | Warisan candidate Karim Bujang has promised to fight for estate workers in Kampung Kurnia to get land if they don't own homes.
He expressed confidence that he can get Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal's attention on the matter.
"This estate has a lot of history. I ask that a few hectares for homes be given to estate workers who don't own house plots.
"Take pity on them, they were born in this estate, (but) they still don't own a home when they retire," he said when met by reporters at the village estate today.

The estate workers were mostly Sabah bumiputeras.
Karim was visiting the area together with Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
Meanwhile, Karim also wants the government to fulfil a BN-era promise to build a mini-stadium in Bongawan.
"A previous prime minister and minister promised to build a stadium but there is nothing and the government has changed," he said.
Karim, who was a five-term Bongawan state assemblyperson under Usno and BN respectively, is facing BN's Mohamad Alamin, who is also a former Bongawan state assemblyperson.
The Kimanis by-election is on Jan 18. - Mkini
