CORONAVIRUS | Following the placing of two buildings in the vicinity under lockdown, all businesses operating at Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur were closed today to facilitate Covid-19 screenings being conducted.
Checks by Malaysiakini at the area since this morning found that businesses there have been ordered closed as all residents in the area, including workers, can be screened.
“Yes, today the Health Ministry is conducting screening tests on all residents.
“All Masjib India residents, including workers at Lulu (hypermarket) and Mydin (store) and hotel guests in the area, are asked to undergo the tests,” a police officer at the site, who declined to be identified, said.
The two buildings there are Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion. They were placed under enhanced movement control order (MCO) on April 7 after 15 cases were identified there.

The lockdown on the three premises affected over 9,000 residents who are not permitted to leave, even to purchase food, throughout the enforcement period.
