Bersatu MP heads Felcra, has experience in 'many fields'

Malaysiakini

asek Gelugor MP Shabudin Yahaya has been named the chairperson of Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra).
Felcra Bhd is owned by the Finance Ministry and manages farmland.
The company's CEO Mohd Nazrul Izam Mansor said Shabudin (photo) possessed "broad experiences across many fields".
"His ability to empathise with the needs of the people will motivate and propel Felcra to amplify its efforts to go beyond the norm, in its quest to realise its vision and mission, in line with the aspiration and mandate to enhance the socioeconomic levels of all participants, for the better," said Nazrul.
Shabudin, 54, is a former syariah court judge before politics.
He won the Tasek Gelugor seat in 2013 in convincing fashion on an Umno ticket and retained his seat with just 35.73 percent of votes in 2018.
In 2018, he left Umno for Bersatu in February 2019 alongside other MPs - Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin (Masjid Tanah), Hamzah Zainuddin (Larut), Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah), Abdul Latiff Ahmad (Mersing) dan Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (Sabak Bernam).
Shabudin's appointment to Felcra meant that 30 out of 32 Bersatu MPs are either in cabinet, were appointed deputy ministers or was appointed to a government agency, GLC or government-related boardroom.
The only two Bersatu MPs without a second pay cheque from a federal government-related entity are Yamani Hafez Musa (Sipitang) and Zakaria Mohd Edris (Libaran). - Mkini
