There have been two new deaths attributed to Covid-19 detected by the Health Ministry in the 24-hour period ending noon today.
One case (Patient 6,743) involved a 30-year-old Malaysian male who was found dead in Rompin, Pahang.
An autopsy yesterday concluded that the man contracted Covid-19. The source of infection was unknown.
No further details were released by the Health Ministry.
The other victim (Patient 5,195), age 90, is a Malaysian male with a history of other illnesses and died this morning.
He was warded at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang, Johor on April 16.
In total, Malaysia has recorded 111 deaths attributed to Covid-19.
Most new cases in N Sembilan
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry also announced 37 new Covid-19 cases today.
Of this number, 21 involved non-citizens and four Malaysians who returned from abroad.
Twenty-two new cases were recorded in Negeri Sembilan, while Kuala Lumpur had five followed by Pahang with three.
Selangor, Malacca and Sabah had two new cases each while Sarawak had one.
The number of new discharges over the same period was 58, bringing total recoveries to 5,281 or 77.9 percent.
Currently, there are 1,387 active cases.
The number of patients requiring intensive care is 16, of which only four require a ventilator.

Bekerja jadi tkw di luar negeri sebetulnya bukan pekerjaan yg mudah, apalagi dapeet majikan galak seperti majikan sy slah sdikit kena marah lgi dN tiap bulan cuma dapet gaji separoh saja tapi terpaksa hrus sy jalani demi anak dN org Tua sy. Sy jadi tkw kerja jadi babu udah 7 thn disini, krnh ingin mengubah nasib yg lebih baek. Namun alhamdulillah skrg akan berakhir. sy skrg tinggal 3 bulan lg finish kontrak disini akan balik di indonesia untuk buka usaha, berkat postingan slh satu teman mantan tkw taiwan atas nama mbak romlah yg sukses dibantu dgn pak haji abdul salam melalui bantuan pesugihan putih uang barokah dstlah sy tertarik akhirnya sy menghubungi beliau. Singkat cerita alhamdulillah melalui perantara bantuan pak haji abdul salam sy udah beli rumah dan insya alloh lepas kontrak habis sy balik buka usaha di indonesia kapok kerja di luar negeri.
