Fewer roadblocks, more vehicles hit the roads in Penang

Light traffic heading into Penang Bridge toll plaza.
GEORGE TOWN: There was more traffic on Penang roads although many businesses have yet to start operating under the conditional movement control order (MCO).
There were also fewer roadblocks in the state.
However, roadblocks at Penang's borders are still being manned along with several others from Balik Pulau to George Town as well as the trunk road from Nibong Tebal at the Penang-Perak and Kamunting toll plaza in Perak.
In George Town, a cyclist in full lycra attire was seen going out for a ride in Tanjung Bungah on Monday (May 4) morning.
On Sunday (May 3), the state government announced that it will hold back the implementation of the conditional MCO to May 8.
The next phase will be from May 9 to May 12 and then from May 13, all sectors would be allowed to operate. - Star
