Najib: I want to clear my name, show leadership

Malaysiakini

Following Pakatan Harapan’s collapse, former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak says he wants to focus on proving his innocence and leadership qualities.
In a video published by online portal Malaysia Gazette, he spoke about the unpredictability of Malaysian politics.
“To me, it's not about whether I make a comeback or not.
“What is important is I want to clear my name.
“I want to show my leadership and help the rakyat,” he said.
The Pekan MP chairs the BN advisory board but has no official role in the Perikatan Nasional government.
Najib is facing five trials - the RM2.28 billion 1MDB case, the RM42 million SRC International case, a second RM27 million SRC International case, the RM6.68 billion IPIC case and his 1MDB audit report tampering case.
The 1MDB trial will next be heard on May 19.
Oral submissions for the RM42 million SRC trial will be heard on June 1.
The audit tampering trial will resume on June 15.
The other two trials - the RM27 million SRC case and the RM6.6b billion IPIC case - have yet to begin.  - Mkini
