Police have clarified that an incident captured on video and gone viral depicting several health officers in protective equipment carting a body away was not recent and did not take place in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur as claimed.
Brickfields district police chief Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin said upon investigation, the incident was found to have occurred on May 16 in Kuala Langat.
In the video, several individuals clad in PPE gear and resembling health officers are seen carrying the body of a deceased in front of a supermarket.
“The Brickfields police chief denies that the incident occurred around the YMCA and Sentral (in Brickfields) and further investigation conducted with the Health Ministry and Kuala Langat police district headquarters found that the incident occurred on May 16 in Kuala Langat, Selangor.
“Member of the public, especially in Brickfields, need not be afraid or concerned over their safety in Brickfields which in under control during the conditional movement control order (MCO),” Zairulnizam said in a statement. - Mkini
