CORONAVIRUS | Perak will allow Friday prayers at mosques and suraus in the state to commence from tomorrow, however under strict conditions.
According to Bernama, among the conditions set is that each congregation size will be capped at 12 people, including the iman and khatib (the person who delivers the sermon).
“Mosques and suraus will not be open to the public. The kariah committee will need to identify and determine the congregation allowed to attend, limited to the kariah committee members and mosque or surau officers,” Perak Islamic Religion And Malay Customs Council (Maipk) chief executive officer Shahrul Azam Shaari was quoted saying.
He added Sultan Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah assented to allowing the prayer sessions after consulting the state Fatwa committee.
The ruler also agreed to allow Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayers on the morning of the first day of Syawal.
