PETALING JAYA: Rembau in Negeri Sembilan is now the only red zone in the country with a three-digit number of active Covid-19 cases.
A red zone is a district in which more than 40 Covid-19 cases have been recorded.
A health ministry infographic today showed that there were now 161 active cases in Rembau.
The spike in cases is linked to the Covid-19 cluster involving factory workers in Pedas.
Rembau was previously declared the first red zone to be free of infections after no new active cases were reported since April 20.
The other active red zones in the country are:
Petaling (Selangor)
Batu, Ibu Kota, Kampung Bharu and Sri Petaling (Kuala Lumpur)
Kuching (Sarawak)
Terengganu may be the next state to be declared a green zone state as there are only five active cases left in Besut.
The other green states with no active cases on record are Penang, Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan.
Perak is no longer a green state as it has recorded two active cases in Manjung.
To date, a total of 6,819 Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the country with 112 deaths. Some 5,351 people have recovered while 1,356 are still being treated. - FMT
