So who checkmated who exactly?

PN rapuh : Bersatu dipinggirkan, UMNO-Pas pilih jalan sendiri

Now just to be clear - what I am saying here is just calling it as it is.
I am not taking anyone's side. This is what has happened and will likely happen.

Yesterday a friend who is a former Cabinet Minister  (and a strong Anwar Ibrahim supporter) called to chit chat.  'Whats going on Syed' was the question. This is now the question. 'What is going on?

Well to be frank - not much.

For starters it looks like tomorrow's head count is not even going to happen.
TSMY will prevail as the Prime Minister.
Dr Mahathir is history.
The news says Mukhriz has resigned as well - as MB of Kedah.
Mukhriz is history too.
I believe this is the end of the Mahathir name in our politics.
That is Dr Mahathir's Wawasan 2020 - the year that Malay politics writes him off.

Now Mukhriz says that Najib is behind his removal as MB Kedah.

Well say what you want but way before the 22 months, Dr Mahathir had lost the support of the people.
Have you forgotten that PH lost FIVE By Elections in a row.
Remember Tg Piai ? Dr Mahathir lost by over 15,000 votes.
He should have resigned then.

Dr Mahathir says he resigned AFTER finding out that only 60 MPs supported him versus 90 for Anwar.

If Dr Mahathir HAD NOT LOST FIVE by elections ALL the 150 MPs would have supported him. The MPs could see that Dr Mahathir had lost the support of the people. That is why those 90 MPs did not support Dr Mahathir anymore. Hence Dr Mahathir resigned.

I have a question for Dr Mahathir and Mukhriz :  Do you think it might just be a teeny weeny, tiny bit possible that you lost the peoples' support BECAUSE YOU SCREWED UP ??

Other than abolishing the GST, you did not deliver ANY of the other promises on the Manifesto.
By the time the tolls were reduced (a tiny bit) you were kicked out.
Serves you right.

So do not blame Najib or anyone else. Blame yourself.
You became lazy. Lazy to think.
You thought everything was back to the good old days of being pemalas.
Tak payah fikir, tak payah kerja kuat.
The people will not mind suffering and paying through their noses for everything.  Well the people have had enough.

And the useless games are still going on. Who checkmated who?
A few weeks ago there was a rumour that Brader would move a motion of no confidence against the PM. Brader then denied it.

Then lo and behold, Shafie Apdal moved a "motion of confidence" to support Dr Mahathir. The Speaker said 'kennot'.

Then Dr Mahathir himself moved a motion of no confidence against the PM.
The Speaker said ok but I dont think it is going to happen.

Then in that video Dr Mahathir said Muhyiddin will prevail.
So what was the purpose of the no confidence motion?
Was it to checkmate the Brader?

But what happens to the country?
What happens to the economy?
Nothing.

Many MPs are happy with their recent appointments as Chairman of this and that. So they will have to show support.  The Budget is five months away - a long time in olitics. But still not enough time to show disloyalty.

The politics is too broken up. There is no clear cut majority in Parliament. UMNO with its 40+ MPs cannot exert too much pressure. They can only threaten tapi nanti duit tak dapat.

Eventually UMNO will come back folks.
Like it or not, agree or not UMNO will come back.
UMNO has three million members, thousands of cawangan throughout the country since 1946. You cannot dismiss a party with that many members and with such a vast branch network. Plus UMNO has assets of tens if not hundreds of billions of Ringgit.

But it cannot be Zahid. If Zahid leads the party, UMNO will be kicked out. The party leadership has to switch to Mat Hassan or Hishamuddin Onn (H20). Or Muhyiddin Yassin. Again I am saying it as I see it.  Forget about your suka, tak suka, setuju or tak setuju.

H20 does not listen to advice.
Mat Hassan needs less advice.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin can leverage on the new UMNO cooperation.
There are no other candidates in UMNO - for a long time yet.

In their present form UMNO, Bersatu, PKR and PAS will not win big in the next general elections. Bersatu will likely be kicked out. PKR and PAS will not get anywhere. Again there will be no one party winning a solid majority.

They do not seem to understand that the country needs a complete revamp in its economic policies.

Tak ada dasar baru, tak boleh menang pilihanraya.
