PASIR MAS: Fourteen villages in the district remained inundated by between 0.5 to 1.1m of floodwater today.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin Md Nasir said eight of the villages were located in Bakong, three in Rantau Panjang, two in Jeram Perdah and one in Lubok Stol.
He said the villages in Bakong are Kampung Gading, Kampung Maghribi, Kampung Kubang Tembakang, Kampung Kubang Pak Hitam, Kampung, Seberang Merbau, Kampung Serongga, Repek, Kampung Baru and Kampung Bechah.
"In Rantau Panjang, the affected villages are Kampung Bawah Lembah, Kampung Gual Tok Deh and Kampung Gual Dalam.
"While in Jeram Perdah, the areas involved are Kampung Tersang and Kampung Jeram Perdah," he said in a statement tonight.
Mohd Nasaruddin said majority of the villagers at the areas had been evacuated to few nearby flood relief centres.
He said only Rantau Panjang police station was inundated by 0.03m of floodwater.
On the number of roads in the district that were submerged by floods, Mohd Nasaruddin said only three main routes in Pasir Mas were inundated by floodwaters as of today.
He said the routes are Jalan Rantau Panjang Lama- Kampung Bukit Lata, Jalan Kampung Tersang and Jalan Rantau Panjang - Lubok Stol.
"This three roads have been submerged between 0.4m to 0.7m of floodwaters," he added. - NST
