KOTA KINABALU: A supermarket clerk was stabbed and robbed of RM120,000 while on her way to a bank in interior Tambunan district today.
Keningau police chief Nor Rafidah Kasim said the woman, in her 20s, was planning to deposit the supermarket’s daily takings when the incident occurred at 1pm.
She said the woman was earlier accompanied by a friend but the victim had to return to their car to retrieve her MyKad while the companion waited in the bank.
“While walking to the car, an unidentified individual who was wearing a motorcycle helmet and black shirt suddenly attacked her, stabbing the woman in the abdomen,” she said.
Nor Rafidah said the suspect then grabbed the bag containing the money and fled.The clerk has been sent to the Keningau hospital for treatment, she said.
Police have launched an operation to locate the suspect with the help of a CCTV recording retrieved from the scene. - FMT
